Day 17 of 30 Birds: “Bird Feeder Drama”

“Bird Feeder Drama”

If you have a bird feeder, you know how fun they are. If you don’t have one, get one. You’ll learn so much. Like, blue jays are assholes, sparrows eat like pigs, cardinals are the Nervous Nellies of the bird world and squirrels are more ingenious than you would think.

I’m doing 30 original works this month. The theme for December is birds. All kinds of birds.

An original piece every day, and yes, they’re for sale. And they’re affordable: $99, which includes free first-class shipping. Write me if you’re interested at john@tebeau.com. Each one is 5″ by 7″ on sturdy illustration board.

Any birds you’d like to see painted? Let me know. Recent suggestions include the American Kestrel, a blue-footed boobie, and all the feathered denizens of “The 12 Days of Christmas.”

One of my coworkers has enthusiastically and repeatedly put in her vote for an owl before the 30 birds are through.

Consider her vote cast here — she’s already made her wishes known on Facebook.
