A feast for the senses, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival is. Music, yes. Of course. Eats? Oh, good lord. Eats till next Tuesday. Eats aplenty. Sights? You bet. Tons of sights, including kooks in goofball outfits, the sky (from brilliant blue to the old touch o’ lightning), and the artists. Last weekend the work of Brad and Sundie Ruppert caught my eye. They’re from Norwalk, Iowa, and they work with “found stuff” (like license plates, bottle caps, auto chrome, etc.) to create imaginative and well crafted iconic Western imagery. Here are a few pieces they were showing in their booth. Enjoy!
