Ah, the Michigan Law Quad! One of the most elegant, quiet, leafy, peaceful places on campus, and it was just down the street from where I lived when I went to Michigan.
It was designed and built in the 1920s, with a nod toward the classic quads of the Ivy League, Oxford and Cambridge. It’s a beauty, and several years ago I took an architectural sketching class in Ann Arbor, with one of our subjects being the Michigan Law Quad.
Years later I revised the sketch and turned it into a silkscreen print. Three colors, on heavyweight archival paper, a limited-edition series, signed and numbered. And I still have a few available for sale!
Check them out here. They ship free in the U.S. and fit in a standard 16″ by 20″ frame.
And as always, if you have a favorite place that you’d like me to draw, contact me.
