Local Bars We Love: Punch Articles by John & Colleen, Featuring Ann Arbor’s Dominick’s and Parasol’s of New Orleans

Ebola, mid-term elections, Mid-East brutality and whatever that thing is about Honey Boo Boo…. The world, she is—how you say?—kooky. You need a place to go unwind and just be. Maybe have a drink or two. Maybe kick back and read alone in a quiet yard surrounded by 100-year-old oaks. Maybe chat with a friend on a balcony porch overlooking one of the country’s best (and best-looking) law schools. Maybe just have THE GREATEST FREAKIN’ SANDWICH OF YOUR LIFE!

Hold me.
Hold me.

In any case, I have a couple suggestions. Dominick’s of Ann Arbor and Parasol’s of New Orleans. Great good places, to be sure. My wife Colleen and I teamed up earlier this year to produce articles about each one, for the magnificently fun, booze-centric website Punch. She wrote ’em, I drew ’em, and you can check them out below. Next up? We’re thinking someplace in San Francisco, where I lived in the ’90s and we both spent over a month in 2012, shortly before the world ended. Remember that? When the world ended?

If you have suggestions for SF places you’d like to see profiled, we’d love to hear ’em. Keep those cards and letters coming!
