Henry Public of Cobble Hill, Brooklyn: a commission I did during the pandemic (are we still in it? I guess we are) for a couple who needed some new art on their walls. So why not their favorite local joint? Especially when that local joint has literally one of the finest sandwiches I’ve ever put in my face. To wit: the modestly named “Turkey Leg Sandwich,” which has rightfully been lauded as the “Best Damn turkey leg sandwich in the world!!!” by some guy on Trip Advisor.
And some guy is right. So it was a damn delight to draw Henry Public for some other guy and his wife, who live right here in our neighborhood. (We’re just one lucky block away from H.P.)
Long story short, you can get a print of this beauty on gorgeous art paper in various sizes right here on my website. Shipping is free (in the US) and if you’re in the nabe, I’ll gladly drop it off in your hot little hands. Meet up at Henry Public? Sure thing. Say the word, mi amigo. And save room for that fine sandwich. As New York magazine once said, it is “a turkey sandwich that could reverse centuries of turkey-sandwich bashing: milk-braised leg meat with crispy fried onions on juice-sopping slices of toasted Pullman.”
No joke. Good sandwich, is all I’m sayin.’
